The provision of drinks containing added sugar or artificial sweeteners, free of charge or for a fixed price, is prohibited in all catering establishments open to the public, schools and establishments intended for the reception, training and accommodation of minors. An order of the ministers responsible for health, agriculture and consumer affairs sets out the list of categories of beverages referred to in the first paragraph.
The State organises and coordinates the prevention and treatment of alcoholism. Expenditure incurred by the application of this article shall be borne by the State, without prejudice to the participation of health insurance schemes in the expenditure on outpatient and inpatient care, and in the medico-social expenditure of the centres mentioned in article L. 3311-2.
The addiction care, support and prevention centres mentioned in Article L. 312-1 of the Code de l’action sociale et des familles (Social Action and Family Code) provides outpatient care and social support and reintegration services for people who consume alcohol at risk or are alcohol-dependent, and for their families.
Anti-alcohol information campaigns must include prevention and education messages. These messages must not discriminate between different products.
