Where the facility cares for both adults and children, inpatient beds for children are located in a paediatric environment and in an area reserved for children. It must have equipment and materials suitable for children.
The doctor responsible for the continuity of care mentioned in article D. 6124-156 must have experience in paediatric intensive care. The nursing staff mentioned in article D. 6124-158 must include at least one nursery nurse and one childcare assistant. The facility has the means to ensure that parents are welcomed and present with the child.
In authorised establishments and in liaison with their directors, the medical managers of transplant activities and those of intensive care and continuous monitoring units draw up agreements defining the resources and procedures for patient care.
The number of medical and paramedical staff is adapted to the organ transplant activity and the follow-up of transplant patients.
