An individual observation sheet shows weight and height curves and diet indications. This information must be transcribed onto the health record.
Under no circumstances may mothers work outside the establishment. They must not be entrusted with housework inside the establishment and must take the rest required by their state of health. However, they must, as far as possible, look after their child, dressing, caring for and feeding it, unless medically contraindicated. An educational programme is organised for mothers on hygiene and childcare during their stay.

In all establishments, ventilation must be permanent and continuous so as to function in all seasons without causing discomfort to patients. Central heating is required in all establishments. The temperature of hospitalised patients’ rooms must never be lower than 18 degrees. Electric lighting must be provided so that the lights can be switched off at night.
In all establishments, the procedures used for washing linen must ensure effective disinfection.
In all establishments, the kitchen and food services must be proportionate to the capacity of the hospital. Every effort must be made to ensure that meals are served hot. Menus must be posted daily and kept for three months.
Healthcare establishments that include accommodation facilities have at least one room equipped with a fixed air cooling system enabling the elderly or frail persons present in these establishments to be accommodated for a few hours a day. By way of derogation from the previous paragraph, the Director General of the Regional Health Agency shall, if necessary, draw up a list of healthcare establishments exempt from installing an air cooling system…
