The extemporaneous preparation or possession of veterinary medicinal products for the purpose of selling or supplying them, whether free of charge or for consideration, by any person other than those mentioned in article L. 5143-2 or those belonging to an establishment authorised to prepare them under subcontracting in accordance with the conditions set out in article L. 5143-9-1, is punishable by two years’ imprisonment and a fine of 30,000 euros….

Where the judicial authority is prosecuted for an infringement of the provisions of this chapter, the administrative authority may, if the interests of public hygiene or animal health so require, order the temporary closure of the establishment. Natural persons guilty of an offence under this chapter shall incur the additional penalty of temporary or permanent closure of the establishment. In the event of a conviction for infringement of the conditions governing advertising of veterinary medicinal products, the court may prohibit the sale of the product irregularly advertised. The penalties laid down for breaches of the conditions governing advertising of veterinary medicinal products shall apply to persons benefiting from irregular advertising and to agents disseminating such advertising.
