Part four: Health professions

Any person who is not a doctor and who performs professional medical electroradiology procedures on medical prescription and under the responsibility of a doctor is considered to be practising the profession of medical electroradiology technician. Persons holding the diplomas, certificates or titles mentioned in article L. 4351-3 or holding the authorisations provided for in article L. 4351-4, and registered on a departmental list, may practise the profession of medical electroradiology manipulator. The person concerned holds the professional title of medical electroradiology manipulator, with or without a qualification.

The diplomas mentioned in Article L. 4351-2 are the French State diploma for medical electroradiology manipulators or the diploma for advanced technicians in medical imaging and therapeutic radiology.

Medical electroradiology manipulators may use their evidence of formal qualifications in the language of the State which issued them. He must indicate the place and establishment where it was obtained. The competent authority may, after obtaining the opinion of a commission composed in particular of professionals, individually authorise to practise the profession of medical electroradiology manipulator nationals of a Member State of the European Union or of another State party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area who, without possessing one of the diplomas, certificates or evidence of formal qualifications provided for in articles L. 4351-3 and L. 4351-5,…

Notwithstanding the provisions of article L. 4351-2, holders of a higher technician’s certificate in medical electroradiology may practise the profession of medical electroradiology manipulator and use the title of medical electroradiology manipulator with or without a qualification.
