Article L6342-4 of the French Labour Code
The rights to social security benefits of an employee who has benefited from unpaid leave for continuing vocational training are guaranteed under the same conditions as those that applied prior to the leave.

The provisions applicable in terms of accidents at work and occupational illnesses to the persons mentioned in 2° of article L. 412-8 of the Social Security Code are applicable to all trainees in continuing vocational training, with the exception of civil servants in the State and local authorities who remain governed by the provisions specific to them.
All disputes arising in connection with the payment and assumption of social security contributions pursuant to this Chapter shall fall within the jurisdiction of the courts.
A decree of the Conseil d’Etat shall determine the measures for the application of this chapter other than those for setting the flat rates provided for in Article L. 6342-3.
For the duration of their presence in the company as part of one of the training courses mentioned in article L. 6313-1, trainees who do not have an employment contract benefit from the provisions of this code and, where applicable, the rural and maritime fishing code relating to: 1° Working hours, with the exception of those relating to overtime. 2° Weekly rest ; 3° health and safety.
The working hours applicable to trainees not holding an employment contract may not exceed the legal weekly and daily working hours set by articles L. 3121-18 and L. 3121-27 respectively. The maximum weekly working time set out above refers to all hours actually worked or present at the workplace.
Trainees who do not have an employment contract may not work overtime.
Trainees who do not have an employment contract are entitled to Sunday rest.
The employer is free to choose the training body, registered in accordance with the provisions of Section 2 or in the process of being registered, to which it entrusts the training of its employees.
Any person carrying out the actions provided for in article L. 6313-1 shall file a declaration of activity with the administrative authority as soon as the first vocational training agreement or the first vocational training contract is concluded, pursuant to articles L. 6353-1 and L. 6353-3 respectively. The administrative authority registers the declaration except in the cases provided for in article L. 6351-3.
