Gardens and areas surrounding residential premises must be maintained in such a way as not to compromise the health and hygiene of these premises. When household waste containers and dustbins are stored there,article R. 1331-51 applies. Access to communal play areas and sandpits is forbidden to pets.
The planting of plant species whose proliferation is likely to have negative effects on health, in particular those listed inarticle D. 1338-1, is prohibited. Gardens and areas surrounding residential premises must be maintained in such a way as not to allow the proliferation of animals that are harmful to human health.
It is forbidden to keep and maintain animals of any species in communal areas of apartment buildings, or around or in the gardens of dwellings, which, due to their number, behaviour or state of health, are likely to constitute a danger or risk to the health or safety of persons or to the hygiene of the premises. Furnished or furnished accommodation, premises used for collective accommodation and tourist accommodation are subject to the provisions of this section, subject to the specific requirements laid down for them by this sub-section and without prejudice to the provisions applicable to some of these premises by virtue of special legislation.
In bedrooms, dormitories or other rooms intended for sleeping in premises used for collective accommodation occupied by more than five people: 1° The smallest dimension on the floor is at least 2 metres for single rooms and 2.20 metres for other rooms; 2° The floor area is at least 5 square metres per person; 3° The air volume is at least equal to 12 cubic metres per person.
