The owner of the furnished accommodation or his agent who wishes to obtain classification must submit an application for classification as a furnished tourist accommodation to an organisation of his choice from among those mentioned in 1° and 2° of article L. 324-1.

The body which carried out the classification visit sends the classification decisions electronically to the body mentioned in article L. 132-2 on a monthly basis.
The owner of the furnished accommodation or his agent may indicate that his furnished accommodation has been classified by displaying a sign in accordance with a model drawn up by the body referred to in article L. 141-2 and approved by order of the Minister responsible for tourism. The classification decision must be displayed in a visible place inside the furnished accommodation.

The Prefect may strike off the list of furnished accommodation classified as furnished accommodation for tourism for failure or serious inadequacy in the upkeep of the accommodation and its facilities. He will inform the departmental tourism committee of his decision.
