The hour provided for in article L. 1225-30 available to the employee to breastfeed her child is divided into two thirty-minute periods, one during the morning shift and the other during the afternoon shift. The period when work is stopped for breastfeeding is determined by agreement between the employee and the employer. Failing agreement, this period is placed in the middle of each half working day.
The thirty-minute period is reduced to twenty minutes when the employer provides employees with a room dedicated to breastfeeding in or near the work premises.
