The commission examines the applications of persons wishing to be included on the list of consumer mediators in the light of the information communicated pursuant to article R. 614-3 and decides on their inclusion on this list.

The Commission shall notify the European Commission, pursuant to Article L. 615-1, the list of consumer mediators, specifying that they meet the quality requirements and fulfil the conditions laid down in articles R. 612-1 to R. 612-5. The Commission regularly assesses mediators to check that they still meet the conditions and quality requirements specific to the exercise of the mission of consumer mediator.

The Commission makes the updated list of mediators available to the public on its website and provides the link to the European Commission’s website dedicated to consumer mediation as well as the link to the website of the European Consumer Centre France.This list is also published in the Bulletin officiel de la concurrence, de la consommation et de la répression des fraudes.

The commission may hear any person and be provided with any document with a view to carrying out its mission.The secretariat is provided by the Directorate-General for Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control. It is responsible for assisting the Commission in its work, taking applications from people wishing to be included on the list of mediators and informing the latter of decisions made by the Commission.

The committee may only deliberate in the presence of its chairman or vice-chairman and at least three of its members. Its meetings are not open to the public.The committee decides by a majority of the votes of the members present. In the event of a tie, the chairman of the meeting has the casting vote.
