The employer shall provide written instructions and, where appropriate, posters in the workplace on the procedure to be followed: 1° In the event of an accident or serious incident involving a biological pathogen; 2° When handling any group 4 biological agent, in particular when disposing of it.
The employer shall inform the workers, the social and economic committee and the occupational physician: 1° Without delay, of any accident or incident which may have led to the release of a biological agent liable to cause a serious infection or illness in humans; 2° As quickly as possible, of the cause of this accident or incident and of the measures taken or to be taken to remedy the situation.
Specific provisions, incorporated where appropriate into the internal regulations, remind workers of their obligation to report immediately any accident or incident involving a biological pathogen.
Where the results of the risk assessment reveal the existence of a risk to the health or safety of workers, the employer shall make the following information available to the workers concerned and to the Social and Economic Committee: 1° The activities in which workers are exposed to pathogenic biological agents, the procedures, work methods and corresponding protective and preventive measures and resources; 2° The number of workers exposed; 3°…
