For the purposes of this section, the following definitions apply 1° Food uses, uses related to drinking, preparing and cooking food, washing dishes, watering vegetable gardens; 2° Personal hygiene uses, uses such as using water in the shower, bath, washbasin, for washing clothes; 3° Uses related to general hygiene and cleanliness, uses related in particular to excreta disposal, washing premises, washing vehicles in the home, cleaning surfaces in buildings; 4°…

Water intended for human consumption must, under the conditions laid down in this section : – not contain a number or concentration of micro-organisms, parasites or any other substances constituting a potential danger to human health ; – comply with the quality limits, relating to microbiological and physico-chemical parameters, defined by order of the Minister for Health.

Water intended for human consumption must comply with quality standards, covering microbiological, physico-chemical and radiological parameters, established for the purposes of monitoring water production, distribution and packaging facilities and assessing the risks to human health, set by order of the Minister for Health.

Water intended for human consumption must comply with indicative values for chemical parameters, enabling its quality to be assessed and the presence of these parameters to be managed, set by order of the Minister for Health.

The measures taken to implement this section must not result, directly or indirectly, in : – a deterioration in the quality, as recorded on the date of entry into force of these measures, of water intended for human consumption which affects human health ; – an increase in the pollution of raw water used for the production of water intended for human consumption.

The quality limits and references defined in articles R. 1321-2 and R. 1321-3 must be respected or met at the following points of compliance: 1° For water supplied by a distribution network, at the point where, inside premises or an establishment, it leaves the taps normally used for human consumption, except for certain parameters for which specific points are defined by the decrees mentioned in articles R. 1321-2 and R….

The guide values defined in article R. 1321-3-1 and the vigilance values defined in article R. 1321-15-1 must be met, for water supplied by a distribution network, at the point where, inside premises or an establishment, it leaves the taps normally used for human consumption.
