In the disciplines for which they have been delegated, the sports federations mentioned in article L. 131-16 issue the technical and safety rules applicable to the events and practice sites mentioned in article R. 331-18. In other disciplines, the technical and safety rules applicable to the same events are laid down by joint order of the Minister for the Interior and the Minister for Sport.

Concentrations of land motor vehicles taking place on roads open to public traffic are subject to declaration. However, concentrations of less than fifty vehicles are not subject to declaration. On circuits, grounds or courses, areas reserved for spectators must be marked out by the technical organiser and comply with technical and safety regulations.
