The mayor may, by reasoned order, prohibit access to certain roads or parts of roads or certain sectors of the municipality to vehicles whose traffic on these roads or in these sectors is likely to compromise either public tranquillity, or air quality, or the protection of animal or plant species, or the protection of natural areas, landscapes or sites or their development for aesthetic, ecological, agricultural, forestry or tourist purposes….

I.-In order to facilitate the detection of breaches of traffic regulations adopted pursuant to Article L. 2213-4-1 and to enable evidence of these offences to be gathered and their perpetrators to be tracked down, fixed or mobile automated vehicle identification data monitoring systems may be implemented by the national police and gendarmerie services or by the municipal police services of the municipalities in whose territory a low mobility emission zone…

The mayor may, by reasoned order, prohibit access to certain roads or sections of roads for vehicles transporting hazardous materials covered by Council Directive 82/501 of 24 June 1982 on the major accident hazards of certain industrial activities and likely to compromise public safety.

The mayor may, in return for payment of a fee set by a duly established tariff, grant permits for temporary parking or storage on the public highway and other public places, provided that such authorisation does not hinder traffic or the freedom of commerce. The methods of charging and the physical management of vehicle parking on the public highway are governed by article L. 2333-87.

The mayor may, up to a limit of twice a year, make the access of persons to certain roads or to certain portions of roads or to certain sectors of the municipality subject to payment of a fee on the occasion of cultural events organised on the public highway, subject to the service being provided to the neighbouring buildings.
