Under the conditions laid down in Article 7 of Council Directive 2001/55/EC of 20 July 2001, additional categories of displaced persons who are not referred to in the Council Decision provided for in Article 5 of the same Directive may benefit from temporary protection, where they are displaced for the same reasons and from the same country or region of origin. A foreign national excluded from the benefit of temporary protection or who, having benefited from this protection, ceases to be entitled to it, and who cannot be authorised to remain in the territory on another basis, must leave French territory, on pain of being subject to a decision imposing an obligation to leave French territory.

Foreign nationals benefiting from temporary protection may receive the allowance mentioned in article L. 553-1 for a fixed period if they meet age and means tests.

The conditions for the application of this chapter shall be laid down by decree in the Conseil d’Etat.
