Appendix: GENERAL RULES FOR FINANCIAL AID FROM THE CENTRE NATIONAL DU CINÉMA ET DE L'IMAGE ANIMÉE

For works of fiction, the application is submitted by one or more authors.For works of animation, the application is submitted jointly by one or more literary authors and one or more graphic authors.

The decision to award a grant is taken after receiving the opinion, depending on the case, of the Commission for Aid to Innovation in Fiction or the Commission for Aid to Innovation in Animation, after consultation with reading committees in accordance with the procedures set out in 2° of Article 122-5.

When the relevant committee gives a favourable opinion on an application for support for authors, its opinion also covers, in the light of the information provided in the application file, the form of support best suited to the project between support for the concept and support for writing.Aid is granted as concept aid when the aim is to produce a formalised version of the project and as writing aid when…

The beneficiary of a concept grant has three months from the date of the decision to award the grant to submit the formalised version of the project to the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée.

The beneficiary of a writing grant has five months from the date of the decision to award the grant to submit the developed version of the project to the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée.For fiction projects, the developed version is submitted to one of the members of the relevant commission for their opinion.

By way of exception and at the reasoned request of the beneficiary, the periods provided for in articles 312-14 and 312-15 may be extended for a period not exceeding six months, by decision of the Chairman of the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée.
