Pharmacists are required to assist in actions taken by the competent authorities to protect health.
In the public interest, pharmacists must take care not to compromise the proper functioning of social protection institutions and schemes. In the course of his professional activity, he shall comply with the rules governing these institutions and schemes.
Pharmacists must take care never to encourage, either by their advice or by their actions, practices contrary to the preservation of public health. They must contribute to the fight against charlatanism, in particular by refraining from manufacturing, distributing or selling any objects or products of this nature.
Pharmacists have a duty to keep their knowledge up to date.
All professional acts must be carried out with care and attention, in accordance with the rules of good practice appropriate to the activity in question. Dispensaries, pharmacies for internal use, pharmaceutical establishments and medical biology analysis laboratories must be located in specific premises, adapted to the activities carried out there and suitably equipped and maintained. The personal practice to which pharmacists are required to adhere consists of carrying out professional acts themselves, or closely supervising their performance if they do not carry them out themselves.
All pharmacists must define in writing the responsibilities of the pharmacists who assist them or to whom they delegate.
All pharmacists must ensure that their assistants, delegates or deputy directors are registered with the ordre. Any pharmacist who is replaced in his functions must ensure that his replacement satisfies the conditions required to do so.
The Association’s disciplinary bodies assess the extent to which a pharmacist is liable under disciplinary law for the professional actions of another pharmacist under his authority. The respective disciplinary responsibilities of one and the other may be engaged simultaneously.
Any cessation of professional activity, any transfer of professional premises or any change in the ownership, pharmaceutical management or corporate structure of a pharmacy, a pharmaceutical company, the management of a pharmacy for internal use or a medical biology analysis laboratory must be declared to the competent council of the Association.
