When the contractor decides to award the sub-contracts on the basis of a framework agreement defined in 1° of Article L. 2325-1, the duration of this framework agreement may not exceed seven years, except in exceptional circumstances determined by taking into account the expected lifespan of the objects, installations or systems delivered, as well as the technical difficulties that may arise from a change of third party economic operator.

The conditions for acceptance by the purchaser of subcontractors who are not subcontractors shall be defined by regulation.
A defence or security contract may be amended by agreement or by the purchaser unilaterally, without a new competitive tendering procedure, in the cases provided for in article L. 2194-1. Such amendments may not change the overall nature of the contract.
