Each year, the Minister responsible for Sport draws up a statement of the number of agents paid by the State carrying out the tasks defined in article R. 131-16 and their distribution between the various sports federations. This statement is included in the annual ministerial activity report.

In agreement with the president of the federation concerned, the staff carrying out the role of national technical director draw up national technical guidelines which are updated annually. The agent who acts as technical sports advisor receives remuneration from the State. They are compensated by the federation concerned for the expenses and hardships incurred in the performance of their duties.

An annual or multi-annual mission statement sets out the detailed content of the tasks entrusted to each member of staff working as a technical sports advisor and the terms and conditions of their involvement.
