Priority signs for a competition or sporting event authorised under the conditions set out in article R. 411-30 of the Highway Code are provided in accordance with the procedures set out in this sub-section.
The persons proposed by the organisers of sporting events and competitions to indicate the right of way provided for in article R. 411-30 of the Highway Code are approved by the administrative authority. They may be fixed or mobile. They are known as “signallers”. The order authorising the event mentions the names of the flagmen appointed for the event.
The marshals must be identifiable by road users by means of a high-visibility waistcoat, as referred to in article R. 416-19 of the Highway Code, and be able to produce, at short notice, a copy of the order authorising the race.

Signallers on motorbikes may manually regulate traffic without a K10 sign as long as they are wearing an approved helmet and a high-visibility waistcoat as referred to in article R. 416-19 of the Highway Code….
The equipment specified in article A. 331-40 must be supplied by the organiser.
The time limits within which the marshals must be present and the equipment provided for in article A. 331-40 must be in place before the theoretical start of the race and removed once the vehicle announcing the end of the race has passed, may be set by the order authorising the event.
