In compliance with the contract of republican commitment mentioned in article L. 131-8, approved sports federations participate in the implementation of public service missions relating to the development and democratisation of physical and sporting activities. They may not delegate all or part of the public service tasks entrusted to them, except to the professional leagues set up pursuant to article L. 132-1. Any agreement to the contrary is deemed null…

Approved federations may exercise the rights conferred on civil parties in respect of offences that directly or indirectly harm the collective interests of their members and the sports associations and societies that are members of them.

Approved federations may entrust their national, regional or departmental bodies with some of their responsibilities in accordance with the mandatory provisions set out in the last paragraph of I of article L. 131-8. They shall monitor the performance of this task and shall in particular have access to documents relating to the management and accounts of these bodies.

State employees or public servants remunerated by the State may work as technical sports advisors for approved federations, in accordance with procedures defined by decree in the Conseil d’Etat. The federations may pay them compensation for these duties, subject to the limits and conditions laid down by decree. Approved federations may conclude, for the benefit of their affiliated associations or certain categories thereof and with the agreement of the latter, any contract of collective interest relating to the purchase or sale of products or services. The contracts mentioned in the first paragraph may not be concluded without a prior call for competition. Their duration is limited to four years.
