The general training common to the teaching, supervision and training professions in mountain sports is assessed by means of a three-hour written test, covering all the subjects covered during the training, as mentioned in article A. 212-71 (marked out of 20).

The examination panel is chaired by the Minister for Sports or his/her representative, a category A civil servant belonging to a body reporting to the Ministry for Sports. The general training common to the teaching, supervision and training professions in mountain sports may be obtained by validating the experience acquired. Candidates wishing to apply for validation of prior experience must hold the certificate of achievement mentioned in 1° of article A. 212-70 and one of the certificates of achievement mentioned in 2° of the same article.

Candidates holding a certificate of successful completion of the examination for the common general training course for mountain sports professions or a certificate of successful completion of the examination for the common part of the brevet d’Etat d’éducateur sportif are exempt from the common general training course for mountain sports teaching, supervision and training professions.
