Any agreement or practice the purpose of which is to limit the access of a repair, reuse or re-use professional to spare parts, instructions for use, technical information or any other instrument, equipment or software enabling the repair of products is prohibited.

If the manufacturer has designed its appliance with provision for cases of self-repair and has given adequate safety instructions so that a user can carry out self-repair, the manufacturer cannot be held liable for damage occurring during self-repair insofar as this damage is linked to clumsiness on the part of the user or the latter’s failure to comply with the product’s repair instructions.
