Producers and distributors shall take all appropriate measures to contribute to compliance with all the safety obligations laid down in this Title.
A product is deemed to satisfy the general safety obligation set out in article L. 421-3, when it complies with the specific regulations applicable to it aimed at protecting consumer health or safety.

The producer shall provide the consumer with useful information enabling him to assess and guard against the risks inherent in a product during its normal or reasonably foreseeable period of use, where such risks are not immediately apparent to the consumer without adequate warning. These provisions apply without prejudice to the other obligations mentioned in articles L. 421-3, L. 423-2, and L. 423-3.
The producer shall adopt measures which, taking into account the characteristics of the products he supplies, enable him:1° To keep himself informed of the risks that the products he markets may present;2° To take the necessary action to control these risks, including withdrawal from the market, adequate and effective warning of consumers and recall from consumers of products placed on the market.
When a producer or distributor is aware that products intended for consumers which it has placed on the market do not meet the requirements set out in article L. 421-3, it shall take the necessary action to prevent risks to consumers and immediately inform the competent administrative authorities.
