The decision to award aid is taken after consultation with the Film Distribution Aid Committee.
The aid is awarded in the form of a grant.The aid is the subject of an agreement concluded with the distribution company.This agreement may include commitments by the company concerning the exhibition of the works in cinemas, particularly with regard to their circulation throughout France and the category of cinemas in which they are programmed.
The Commission des aides à la distribution cinématographique may also be asked for its opinion:1° When it appears that the distribution company has not fulfilled the commitments it made in the agreement. In this case, the Commission may, if it considers it necessary, propose to modify the amount of aid granted;2° On the conditions under which the aid granted has been used by the distribution company as well as on…
Selective financial aid is allocated each year to support the overall activity of distribution companies when the appropriations allocated to direct allocations based on the conditions of distribution of cinematographic works have not been fully used for the year in question.
Structural grants are awarded to distribution companies in addition to direct grants, depending on the conditions under which cinematographic works are shown.
Structural aid is granted in consideration of:1° The additional financing requirements necessary for the activity of the distribution company;2° The quality of the work carried out by the distribution company.
Structural aid is subject to compliance with Commission Regulation (EU) No 1407/2013 of 18 December 2013 on the application of Articles 107 and 108 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union to de minimis aid.
The decision to grant aid is taken after consultation with the Complementary Structural Aid Committee.
The aid is awarded in the form of a grant.The aid is covered by an agreement with the distribution company.
The Commission des aides à la distribution cinématographique is made up of twenty-five members, including a chairman and three vice-chairmen, appointed for a renewable term of one year.Their term of office begins on 1st October each year.
