The decision to award a grant is taken, depending on the case, after receiving the opinion of the Fiction Innovation Grant Committee or the Animation Innovation Grant Committee.

The aid is awarded in the form of a grant.
The grant is paid as follows: – 50% at the time of the award decision;– 50% after submission to the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée of the finalised version of the project and proof of expenditure incurred. When aid is awarded to several production companies, payment is made to the companies on the basis of the agreements between them.
The same audiovisual work project may not give rise to the award of creation aid and aid for the co-writing of international co-production projects.
The same project may not, for the same expenditure, benefit from both aid granted in application of this chapter and other aid granted by the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée.

The Commission des aides à l’innovation en fiction is made up of nine members, including a chairman and a vice-chairman, appointed for a renewable term of one year.
The Animation Innovation Grants Committee is made up of eight members, including a chairman and a vice-chairman, appointed for a renewable term of one year.
