The provisions relating to the departmental criminal court are not applicable in the Department of Mayotte.
For the application of articles 491 and 492, the time limits for lodging an objection are ten days if the accused resides in the département, and one month if they reside outside the département.
For the application of article 500, the additional period is extended to fifteen days for parties who reside outside the département.
For the application of the third paragraph of article 527, the opposition period is extended to two months if the accused does not reside in the département.
Articles 892 and 893 are applicable before the police court.
The time limit provided for in the first paragraph of Article 552 applies when the party summoned resides in the Department. This time limit is increased by one month if the party cited resides anywhere else in the territory of the Republic.
The time limit for lodging an appeal provided for in the first paragraph of article 568 is extended to one month if the applicant in cassation resides outside the island where the court that handed down the contested decision has its seat.
