The time spent in practical training by hospital odontology students is set at an average of five half-days per week over a twelve-month period. They take part in courses, tests and examinations during their university attendance time.

The hospital odontology students referred to in article R. 6153-63 participate in hospital activities under the responsibility of the referring practitioner designated by the person in charge of teaching at the place of training or, where applicable, under the responsibility of the practitioner in charge of the host structure in accordance with the procedures laid down by order of the ministers responsible for higher education, health and, where applicable, defence….

The odontology students mentioned in article R. 6153-63 justify, before their first assignment, by one or more medical certificates sent to the director of the training and research unit to which they belong, that they meet the conditions required by the regulations in force relating to the compulsory immunisation of certain persons against certain diseases.

The odontology hospital students mentioned in article R. 6153-63 are subject to the internal regulations of the establishment to which they are assigned, which specify in particular their obligations towards patients, medical staff and the hospital administration. Students are informed of their attendance obligations by the head of the training unit to which they are assigned.

The hospital odontology students mentioned in article R. 6153-63 are subject to the disciplinary system applicable to students. The university hospital centres to which they are attached, which are responsible for paying all the odontology hospital students mentioned in article R. 6153-63, pay them a salary throughout their training, with the exception of the period of study abroad provided for in article R. 6153-64.

The training periods mentioned in article R. 6153-64, with the exception of the study period abroad, carried out outside the hospital centre to which they are attached, are organised by agreements concluded in accordance with the procedures laid down by order of the ministers responsible for the budget, higher education, health and, where applicable, defence.

The provisions of articles R. 6142-3 and R. 6142-5 do not apply to the agreements relating to the organisation of placements provided for in article R. 6153-74. These agreements determine their period of application and the conditions for their revision. They are periodically evaluated by the signatory parties.
