The authorisation holder organises the transition from “child and adolescent psychiatry” care to “adult psychiatry” care, jointly and in advance between the two services or authorisation holders concerned. A general protocol defining the organisation of this transition between the two departments or registrants concerned is drawn up. Within this framework, the authorisation holder may provide care for patients who have reached the age of majority during this transition period.
The holder of the “child and adolescent psychiatry” authorisation may organise the care of adolescents and young adults in the same unit to enable a transition to adult psychiatry. This unit is formally organised. The authorisation holder must also hold an “adult psychiatry” authorisation or must have signed an agreement with an “adult psychiatry” authorisation holder.
The holder of the “perinatal psychiatry” authorisation organises joint parent-baby care. This joint care focuses in particular on assessing the parents’ health, parent-baby interactions and the baby’s development. It covers the pre-conceptional and prenatal periods.
To be authorised for “perinatal psychiatry”, the holder must be authorised for “adult psychiatry” and “child and adolescent psychiatry”. By way of derogation, the holder of a “child and adolescent psychiatry” authorisation may enter into an agreement with a holder of the “adult psychiatry” authorisation.
Where necessary, the holder of the authorisation for this field provides assessment, advice and expertise to other holders of authorisations in psychiatry and to holders of authorisations in gynaecology-obstetrics, neonatology and neonatal intensive care.
In order to be authorised for “care without consent” and to take charge of adults in care without consent, the holder must be authorised for “adult psychiatry”.
