The foreign national referred to in the first paragraph of article L. 413-2 commits to a personalised republican integration programme. To this end, they sign the republican integration contract provided for in the second paragraph of the same article, by which they undertake to respect the principles and values of French society and the Republic and to follow seriously and assiduously the training and support measures prescribed for them.

Article R413-6 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

Aforeign nationals who have not signed up to this scheme when they are first admitted for residence may sign the Republican Integration Contract at a later date, as provided for in article L. 413-4, provided that they are legally resident in France and subject to the exceptions provided for in article R. 413-7. Where applicable, the contract is also signed by the foreign national’s legal representative.
