The Cour nationale du droit d’asile sends the applicant a notice of receipt of his appeal. This notice informs them of the arrangements for consulting their file.
The appeal must, on pain of inadmissibility, be lodged within one month of notification of the decision by the French Office for the Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons. However, the time limit for appeal and the means of appeal are only enforceable if they are mentioned in the notification of the decision.
When the applicant disputes the language in which he has been heard by the French Office for the Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons he shall indicate within the time limit for appeal the language in which he wishes to be heard. They will then be heard in that language.When their request cannot be met, they will be heard in a language they can reasonably be expected to understand.
