The following are places of accommodation for asylum seekers:1° Reception centres for asylum seekers defined in article L. 348-1 of the Code de l’action sociale et des familles;2° Any structure receiving funding from the ministry responsible for asylum for the reception of asylum seekers and subject to declaration, within the meaning of article L. 322-1 of the same code.
The accommodation facilities referred to in Article L. 552-1 accommodate asylum seekers for the duration of the examination of their asylum application or until their actual transfer to another European State.
Without prejudice to the financial contribution requested from asylum seekers on the basis of their resources, the costs of reception and accommodation in accommodation facilities intended for asylum seekers are borne by the State.
The legal entities managing the accommodation may require the payment of a deposit, under conditions defined by decree. The amount of the deposit is returned on leaving the accommodation, deducted where applicable from any sums owed by the beneficiary in respect of their accommodation.
