All measures are taken to ensure that workers are not inconvenienced by the thermal effects of radiation from the lighting sources used. Lighting sources are designed or installed in such a way as to avoid any risk of burns.
Lighting controls are easily accessible. In blind areas, they are fitted with indicator lights.
Lighting equipment shall be installed in such a way that it can be easily maintained. The employer shall lay down rules for the periodic maintenance of the equipment in order to ensure compliance with the provisions of this section. The maintenance rules are recorded in a document which is communicated to the members of the social and economic committee.
The provisions of articles R. 4223-6, R. 4223-7, R. 4223-8, first paragraph, and R. 4223-10 do not apply to building and civil engineering operations as defined in article R. 4534-1.
Enclosed work areas are heated during the cold season. The heating is operated in such a way as to maintain a suitable temperature and not to give rise to any noxious fumes.
The temperature of ancillary rooms, such as catering rooms, rest rooms, rooms for workers on duty, sanitary rooms and first aid rooms, depends on the specific purpose of these rooms.
After consulting the occupational physician and the social and economic committee, the employer shall take all necessary steps to ensure that workers are protected against the cold and bad weather.
Workplaces subject to the provisions of Title I when they are built or converted are used in accordance with these provisions. In the event of a change of use, they shall be adapted to comply with the provisions governing the new use at the date of the adaptation work.
Buildings housing workplaces have structures and strength appropriate to their use.
Indoor and outdoor workplaces are laid out in such a way as to allow safe movement of pedestrians and vehicles.
