The audible alarm system provided for in article R. 4227-34 is supplemented by one or more alarm systems adapted to the disability of the persons concerned employed in the company so that they can be informed in all places and in all circumstances.
The provisions of this chapter lay down the rules relating to the use of permanent and temporary electrical installations. They also lay down the rules relating to the construction, by the employer, of temporary electrical installations or new permanent electrical installations or relating to additions and modifications made by the employer to existing electrical installations.
Electrical installations include all electrical equipment used for the production, conversion, distribution or use of electrical energy. Electrical installations are classified as follows, according to the highest of the nominal voltages, existing either between any two of their conductors, or between one of them and Earth: 1° Very low voltage area (abbreviated as VLV): installations in which the voltage does not exceed 50 volts in alternating current or 120 volts…
Temporary electrical installations subject to the provisions of this chapter include: 1° Installations such as those in structures, huts and stands located in fairgrounds, markets, amusement parks, circuses and exhibition or show sites; 2° Installations on building and public works sites; 3° Installations used during the construction or repair phases, on land, of ships, boats or aircraft; 4° Installations on forestry sites and agricultural activities.
The provisions of this chapter do not apply to the distribution of electrical energy governed by the law of 15 June 1906 on the distribution of energy. In the case of electrical traction installations, this exclusion extends to the extension, conversion and maintenance of these installations, to the electrical equipment of railway rolling stock and to railway technical and safety installations.
The employer shall maintain all permanent electrical installations in compliance with the provisions relating to the design of electrical installations applicable on the date on which they were brought into service.
