Remotely controlled self-propelled mobile work equipment must be fitted with a device enabling it to stop automatically when it leaves the field of control. If it is liable to collide with workers, such equipment or equipment operating without a driver must be fitted with protective devices or guards against such risks, unless other appropriate devices are in place to control the risk of collision.
In the event of simultaneous movement of several pieces of self-propelled mobile work equipment running on rails, these pieces of equipment are fitted with means to reduce the consequences of a possible collision.
Self-propelled mobile work equipment which, by itself or because of its trailers or load, presents a fire hazard, must be fitted with fire-fighting equipment, unless the place of use is equipped with such equipment in sufficiently close proximity.
