Part Six: Health facilities and services

The reception area provided for in Article D. 6322-33 includes a reception, a secretariat, one or more medical consultation desks and a waiting room.

When the holder of the authorisation for cosmetic surgery facilities is not a public health establishment, the hospitalisation zone provided for in article D. 6322-33 complies with the provisions of articles D. 6124-404 and D. 6124-478 to D. 6124-481.

Each patient’s bed or chair is equipped with a medical fluid inlet and a vacuum suction system.

The hospital premises also include a nursing room on each floor.

The provisions of articles D. 6124-91 to D. 6124-103 relating to the practice of anaesthesia are applicable to cosmetic surgery facilities. The pre-anaesthetic consultation provided for in article D. 6124-92 is carried out either in the consultation rooms provided in the reception area, or in the practice of the anaesthetist-intensivist. If the authorisation holder does not have its own laboratory capable of carrying out the medical biology tests mentioned in Article L. 6211-1 as a matter of urgency and providing the results obtained without delay, it shall enter into an agreement or contract with another establishment or a medical biology analysis laboratory to ensure that these tests are carried out and that the results are sent immediately.

The medical team performing cosmetic surgery procedures in these facilities comprises only : 1° One or more qualified doctors who are specialists or holders of a group II diploma in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery ; 2° One or more qualified doctors who are specialists or holders of a group I diploma of complementary specialised studies in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery; 3° One or more doctors qualified as specialists…

When one or more people are present for a cosmetic surgery operation, the paramedical team includes, day and night, in addition to the specialist staff working in the operating area and post-intervention monitoring room: 1° At least one nurse ; 2° At least one nursing assistant.

Where the facilities are not served by an in-house pharmacy, a pharmacist is responsible for monitoring medical gases.
