All sworn freight brokers adjust the amount of cover they have taken out each year. They also revise this amount when particular circumstances are likely to modify the extent of the risk.

All sworn freight brokers adjust the amount of cover they have taken out each year. They also revise this amount when particular circumstances are likely to modify the extent of the risk.
The insurance of the legal entity covers the civil liability of a director, partner or employee of a sworn goods broker, legal entity, meeting the conditions set out in Articles 1°, 2°, 4° and 5° of Article L. 131-13.
Insurance policies must not provide for an excess payable by the insured of more than 10% of the compensation due, subject to a limit of €8,000 per creditor. The excess is not enforceable against the creditors of a sworn goods broker.
The examination to qualify as a sworn goods broker comprises : 1° A written and practical test lasting three hours, during which the candidate draws up a certificate, report or any other written document relating to the performance of the duties of a sworn goods broker; 2° A one-hour theoretical oral test on the knowledge required for the duties and function of a sworn goods broker; 3° A technological oral…
The qualifying examination is held at least once a year. It is taken before a national selection board, which chooses the test subjects. The examining board is chaired by a senior or first-grade judicial magistrate. It is made up of two consular magistrates and two sworn goods brokers.

The prosecuted sworn goods broker is summoned to appear by the public prosecutor at the judicial court.
The court shall give its decision, stating its reasons, after hearing the public prosecutor, the sworn goods broker being prosecuted and, where appropriate, his lawyer.
