The list of candidates admitted to sit the technical examination is drawn up by the Director of Military Personnel of the National Gendarmerie.

The rules governing access to the preparation and preparation of candidates for the technical examination are laid down by ministerial instruction.
The date of the technical examination and the test subjects are set by the commission provided for in article 16 (2° and 4°) of the present code on the proposal of the director of military personnel of the national gendarmerie.
The material organisation of the technical examination tests, which take place in one or more centres, is provided by the military personnel directorate of the national gendarmerie. In the month following the examination, the Chair will call a meeting of the Examining Board to establish marking standards and to allocate the papers to the markers. The anonymity of the papers is ensured by the use of a suitable technical procedure. The chairman of the jury sets the date by which the marked papers must be sent to the secretariat of the committee.
The secretariat of the committee submits to the chair of the jury: 1° copies for which an eliminatory mark is proposed under the conditions set out in article A4 of this code. These copies are marked a second time by a member appointed by the chair of the jury and belonging to a different panel (magistrature, gendarmerie) to the one to which the first marker belongs. The committee provided for in Article 16 (2° and 4°) of the Code of Criminal Procedure issues an opinion on the lists mentioned in 4° of article A10 within a maximum of four months after the date of the examination. The lists are sent to the directorate general of the national gendarmerie, together with the candidates’ copies and the minutes of the sitting.
Candidates who have failed four sessions may no longer be authorised to sit the technical examination for judicial police officers.
