Apprentices are exempt from all statutory and collectively agreed employee contributions for the portion of their pay that is less than or equal to a ceiling set by decree.
The State will pay the social security contributions of apprentices who are eligible for the exemptions provided for in articles L. 6227-8-1 and L. 6243-2. The fund mentioned inarticle L. 135-1 of the Social Security Code will pay, under conditions set by decree, additional old-age insurance contributions in order to validate a number of quarters corresponding to the length of the apprenticeship contract with the basic schemes.
A decree in the Conseil d’Etat shall determine the implementing measures for this chapter.
In the départements of Moselle, Bas-Rhin and Haut-Rhin , a decree of the Conseil d’Etat shall determine the special conditions for the application of this book to take account of local circumstances.

Employees have access to vocational training: 1° On the employer’s initiative, where applicable, as part of a skills development plan ; 2° At the employee’s initiative, in particular by mobilising the personal training account provided for in article L. 6323-1 ; 3° As part of the professionalisation contracts provided for in article L. 6325-1.
Self-employed workers, members of the liberal professions and self-employed workers, including those who do not employ any salaried workers, as well as their collaborating spouse or their partner spouse mentioned inarticle L. 121-4 of the Commercial Code, personally benefit from the right to continuing professional training. The same right is available to unemployed workers.
The actions contributing to the development of skills that fall within the scope of the provisions relating to vocational training are : 1° Training courses ; 2° Skills assessments ; 3° Actions to validate acquired experience, under the conditions set out in Book IV of this Part; 4° Apprenticeships, as defined in article L. 6211-2.
The training course referred to in 1° of Article L. 6313-1 is defined as an educational pathway leading to a professional objective. It may be carried out in whole or in part by distance learning. It may also be carried out in the workplace. The terms of application of the second and third paragraphs of this article shall be determined by decree.
