If, within two years of the opinion of the Committee for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, the research involving the human person has not begun, this opinion lapses. The term of office of the members of the Commission, including the Chairman, is three years, renewable once.
In the event of a vacancy occurring during the term of office, a replacement shall be appointed under the same conditions as the appointment for the remainder of the term of office.
If a member has three consecutive unexcused absences from committee meetings, that member is deemed to have resigned.
